About
Iain Potter is a damages expert and academic based in Singapore. He specialises in the quantification of damages and contentious business valuations, working at the intersection of accounting, law, and finance.
Since relocating from London to Singapore in 2014, Iain has been appointed as an expert in over 100 cases across six continents, testifying before courts and arbitral tribunals on dozens of occasions. He has been engaged in ICC, LCIA, SIAC, PCA, JCAA, and AIAC arbitral proceedings, as well as before national courts in Singapore, the UK, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Cyprus, and the Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts, among others.
Alongside his consulting practice, Iain is a member of the adjunct faculty at the National University of Singapore’s Business School, where he co-developed and teaches a forensic accounting course covering investigation techniques and damages quantification. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Leicester Law School, researching the extent to which awards of damages reflect risk and uncertainty.
